Central Computing Facility
The Central Computing Facility (CCF) of the college serves as a key resource center, providing comprehensive computing and internet services to both students and staff. The facility is well equipped with 90 computer systems interconnected through the campus Local Area Network (LAN), ensuring seamless access to digital resources.
High-speed internet connectivity is provided through a dedicated 100 Mbps (1:1) leased line, enabling users to efficiently carry out academic and research activities. The CCF supports students and faculty in enhancing their technical skills and knowledge across various software applications, programming environments, and emerging technological domains.
In addition to core computing services such as internet browsing and programming, the facility also offers a range of support services including printing, scanning, photocopying, and spiral binding, thereby catering to diverse academic requirements.
To ensure secure and regulated internet usage, the facility is equipped with a robust Unified Threat Management (UTM) system, namely Sophos XG230, which monitors and controls network activity, thereby maintaining a safe and efficient digital environment for all users.

The Central Computing Facility (CCF) of the college is a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure designed to support the academic, research, and professional needs of both students and faculty. The facility houses around 90 high-performance branded computer systems with latest configurations, all connected through a secure Local Area Network managed by dedicated servers. It provides a reliable and efficient environment for programming, software development, simulation, design, and data analysis.
The center is powered by a 300 Mbps high-speed Leased Line Internet connection, ensuring seamless access to online learning platforms, virtual labs, research databases, and cloud-based tools. Each system is equipped with essential peripherals such as webcams and headsets, enabling smooth participation in online classes, webinars, virtual conferences, and certification programs. The Central Computing Facility plays a vital role in academic activities. Students extensively utilize the lab for the preparation and presentation of seminars, development of mini projects, and execution of main academic projects, with guidance from faculty and technical staff. It provides the necessary technical support and software environment for coding, testing, documentation, and project demonstrations.
In addition, the CCF is a key center for placement and career development activities, supporting online aptitude tests, coding assessments, group discussions, and virtual interviews conducted by recruiters. It also enables students to engage in skill development programs, certification courses, and placement training sessions.
Faculty members make effective use of the facility for academic preparation, research work, content development, and administrative purposes. The center also supports the conduct of workshops, faculty development programs (FDPs), training sessions, and online examinations.
The facility is fully air-conditioned and ergonomically designed, ensuring a comfortable and productive environment. It is backed by uninterrupted power supply (UPS), secure networking, and regular maintenance, ensuring smooth and reliable operations. The CCF functions from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., providing continuous support throughout the academic day.

Rules & Regulations

  • All the users (students and staffs) must sign in and sign out of the CCF by swiping their ID Cards to the Entry Register System.
  • Keep your foot wears and other personal belongings outside. Please keep it in the rack provided for the same.
  • Users are permitted to use the allotted system only. In case of any difficulties/ error, please contact the Staff in Charge and obey their instructions.
  • If you find any damages in the system/ equipment before/while started using, immediately inform the Staff-in-Charge. Otherwise it will by charged against you by the next person.
  • Any kind of eatables, drinkables, chewing and/or USE OF TOBACCO IN ANY FORM are strictly not allowed in the lab.
  • Usage of Mobile Phones or any other electric gadgets are not permitted in the Lab without prior permission of the Staff-in-Charge.
  • Gaming / any unwanted activities are not permitted in the lab.
  • Lab users should maintain professional and courteous communication. All the systems and other devices should be used on a professional level. No obnoxious or belligerent behavior will be tolerated.
  • Please operate the equipment with respect and care.
  • Activities in the lab that are considered by the lab staffs to be abusive to the software, hardware, and\or personnel may result in expulsion from the lab and denial of future use of the lab.
  • The lab staffs are here to help when they can and to maintain the labs' operation. However, the lab staffs are not here to do your work for you.
  • Software may be installed by Computer Labs staff only. Do not install any software on your own. Files and software not put on by authorized staffs will be routinely removed.
  • Do not modify any software or files. Do not overwrite the operating system, modify the autoexec.bat or config.sys or any other system parameters.
  • Access to pornographic/other banned sites will not be allowed.
  • For any hardware, software, printer, paper, or ink problems, please contact the staff in charge.
  • Any failure to follow these lab rules may result in the loss of your lab privileges.

About Library
The MBC Central library was established in the year 2001. It follows an open access system. Books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. Library membership is open to all students and staff of the college. The seating capacity of library is 200.
The library provides access for students to vast databases, full-text journals, audio-visual programmes in addition to an extensive collection of books. A fully computerized library, with an area of 715 Square metres, has more than 22654 volumes of text books comprising 4753 titles. The books are supplemented by CDs and microfilms.

Library Automation Facility

The library has embraced modern automation technologies to enhance efficiency and provide seamless access to its resources. Core library operations, including acquisition, circulation, and cataloguing, have been fully automated, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and ease of management.
A barcode-based circulation system has been implemented to streamline the borrowing and return process, significantly reducing waiting time and minimizing manual errors. This system enables quick check-in and check-out of books while maintaining precise records of all transactions.
To further improve user convenience, the library is equipped with advanced library management software that allows users to easily search for books and other resources. Through this system, users can quickly locate materials by title, author, subject, or keyword, making the process of accessing information both efficient and user-friendly.

Digital Library

The library is equipped with a well-established Digital Library facility designed to support the academic and research needs of its users. This facility houses 10 high-configuration computer systems, enabling smooth and efficient access to a wide range of digital resources.
Through the Digital Library, users can conveniently access various e-resources, including e-journals, e-books, NPTEL video lectures, online newspapers, and other scholarly databases. This ensures that students and faculty have access to up-to-date information and global knowledge resources to enhance their learning, teaching, and research activities.
The Digital Library facility is available to users throughout the library's working hours, providing continuous and reliable access to digital content within the library premises.

Reprographic Facility

The library offers a dedicated reprographic facility to support the academic and research requirements of its users. This service enables the quick and efficient reproduction of study materials, ensuring timely access to essential information.
Designed to be both convenient and cost-effective, the facility allows students and faculty members to obtain photocopies of reference materials, articles, and other documents with ease. By facilitating rapid dissemination of information, the reprographic service plays a vital role in enhancing the overall learning and research experience within the institution.

Library Working Hours (Monday - Saturday)

  • Working Hours - 8.50 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • Transaction Hours - 8.50.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.

Rules of the Library

  • On regular working days library opens at 8.50 am and closes at 5.00 pm and on non- regular working days library opens at 9.00 am and closes at 4:00 pm.
  • No student will be permitted to enter the library without uniform and identity card.
  • All the users must sign in and sign out of the library by swiping their ID card in the Entry Register System.
  • Students are not permitted to take their personal belongings (bags, umbrellas, personal books, printed matters, jackets, files, etc...) inside the library. These things have to be kept in the belongings room at the entrance. Students are permitted to take only one notebook or few sheets of paper into the library.
  • Strict silence should be observed in the library.
  • Group discussion/ group study and doubt clearance are not allowed in the library.
  • All students are allowed to borrow 3 books at a time for a period of 15 days And after that an overdue charge of Rs 1/- per day will be levied.
  • All faculty members are allowed to borrow 6 books at a time for a period of 6 months and after that an overdue charge of Rs 1/- per day will be levied.
  • All non-teaching staffs are allowed to borrow 2 books at a time for a period of 4 months and after that an overdue charge of Rs 1/- per day will be levied.
  • Books in the reference section will not be issued in any case.
  • Those who read reference books, please write accession number, name of student etc... in the reference read register.
  • Those who use digital library, please write their details in the register.
  • Members shall not bring library books issued to them inside the library.
  • Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • Members are responsible for any damage caused by them to the books or any other property belonging to the library & shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon them by the librarian.
  • The members caught tearing pages /stealing of books will be suspended forthwith for using the library facilities and college will initiate further disciplinary action against them.
  • If the book has any complaint, that complaint should be reported at the circulation counter before taking the book. Otherwise, the complaint will not be considered.
  • If in the case of book has lost, students have to replace the latest edition of the books or to pay the triple cost of the book.
  • Members leaving the library should stop at the exit so that the materials borrowed or taken out of the library by them may be checked.
  • The library rules may be altered, modified or amended from time to time.
  • Any infringement of the above rules may lead to the cancellation of the membership.
  • Any controversy regarding the interpretation of any of these rules has to be settled by the principal.

The English language, in particular, has become essential in the lives of young people who aspire to advance their careers anywhere in the world, making English language learning a must for any Indian student today. Language learning is not the same as learning any other subject. It is not confined to writing an examination and getting a degree or award. The four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking have to be practiced. Being able to communicate well is the most important factor when seeking a placement in a company or institution.
The Language Laboratory plays an important role in this English language learning process. Using a technological aid for learning, The Language Lab at MBCCET has a number of advanced facilities that can help a student to learn English with proficiency to communicate. The Lab is currently equipped with TELL ME MORE, an advanced virtual English language learning software that caters to the language learning needs of all category of students. The College Cricket team has won the First Runners up position and has selected to particiate in the Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Teachnological University (KTU) Interzone Cricket tournament held at Trivandrum.
* Physical Education
Physical Education forms an integral component of the holistic educational framework, aimed at fostering the overall development of individuals-physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually-through structured and well-designed physical activities. It emphasizes the importance of total body movement and active participation in promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The objectives of Physical Education are dynamic and evolve in response to contemporary societal needs. The primary goal of most educational institutions is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, values, and motivation necessary to sustain a healthy and active lifestyle throughout adulthood. The programme is carefully designed to enhance physical fitness, develop motor skills, and impart a sound understanding of rules, strategies, and the principles underlying various sports and games. It also encourages teamwork, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship, while enabling students to perform effectively both as individuals and as members of a team across a wide spectrum of competitive and recreational activities.
The Department of Physical Education at MBC is supported by excellent infrastructure and modern facilities that cater to diverse sporting interests. The campus features a well-maintained green sports ground with a 400-meter athletic track, along with dedicated fields for football and cricket. Separate courts for handball and volleyball are also available to promote active participation in team sports.
A well-designed basketball court, located at the central quadrangle, serves as a prominent attraction of the campus and a hub for student engagement. In addition, four shuttle badminton courts are maintained to accommodate both men and women. The department also houses a fully equipped multi-gymnasium facility accessible to all students, along with indoor game amenities such as table tennis, carrom, and chess.

Physical Education Daily Activities

To foster a strong sporting culture and encourage active participation among students, the Department of Physical Education consistently promotes regular sports and fitness activities on campus. Emphasis is placed on integrating physical activity into the daily routine of students, thereby contributing to their overall health and well-being.
A fully equipped gymnasium is operational during both morning and evening hours, providing convenient access for students and staff. The facility is maintained to high standards and is supervised by a full-time professional trainer who offers guidance, structured workout plans, and ensures safe and effective use of equipment.
In addition to fitness training, a wide range of outdoor sports activities such as cricket, football, basketball, and volleyball are conducted daily, typically between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM. These sessions encourage student engagement, teamwork, and skill development in a disciplined environment. The department ensures that all necessary sports equipment is regularly updated and readily available, supporting continuous participation and the pursuit of excellence in sports.

Participation in KTU Games

Under the proactive initiatives of the Department of Physical Education at MBC, college teams actively participated in various intercollegiate sports events organized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) during the current academic year. These participations reflect the institution's commitment to promoting competitive sports and nurturing athletic excellence among students.
The College Cricket Team delivered an impressive performance at the KTU Zonal Games, securing Third Place in the intercollegiate cricket tournament. Adding to this achievement, Mr. Nibin Binoy (S2 ECE) earned distinction by being selected to represent the University Cricket Team, highlighting the individual talent nurtured within the institution.
Both the Men's and Women's Badminton Teams represented the college in the Intercollegiate Badminton Tournament, with the Women's Team achieving the Runner-up position, demonstrating commendable skill, determination, and teamwork.
In addition, college teams actively competed in intercollegiate tournaments in football, volleyball, and basketball. The teams exhibited strong performances and competitive spirit, delivering closely contested matches against their opponents.
Through such consistent participation and achievements, the Department continues to inspire students to excel in sports while fostering discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition.

The college canteen at MBC is well known for offering a variety of hygienic, home-style food at affordable prices, catering to students, staff, and visitors. Designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, the canteen is well furnished and functions on all working days. The canteen operates from 7:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., ensuring accessibility throughout the day.
In addition to the main canteen, the institution also houses a Co-operative Society Store within the campus premises. This facility provides a range of snacks and light refreshments to meet the daily needs of the campus community. The quality and hygiene of food items are carefully monitored under the supervision of a designated faculty-in-charge, ensuring consistent standards. The Co-operative Store functions on all working days, including Saturdays, from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M., offering convenient access to refreshments for students and staff.

Rules of the Gym

  • Usage of gym is strictly restricted to the allotted timings.
  • Physical Education Dept. has the right to deny admission to the gym on days prescribed by the college.
  • Be careful while performing your workout and do not experiment on yourself.
  • Keep the gym equipment back in the prescribed places after the workout.
  • Maintain decorum in the gym.
  • The college has the right to ban any student from using the Health Club facility, if found to be not following the rules and instructions.

The College provides residential facilities for boys, girls and the staff members. The College has two separate hostels for boys with a total intake capacity of 850 students and two hostels for girls with 600 total intake capacity. Ergonomically designed rooms provide a feeling of home away from home. MBC has been applauded as the only residential Engineering College in Kerala.

Men's and Ladies' Hostels
